From here on in, I'm referring to womyn who were CAMAB as simply womyn, and those who were CAFAB and 'identify' as female as ciswomen. I do this in the interests of cultural feminism, and so that ciswomen can know what it's like for a tenth of a second to have a womon say, "you are not my sister. You did not go through what I went through and never will understand." Girlhood is significant, and is forever tainted by cissexually-constructed wannabes.

i want that you are always happy: Why I hate it when other white people say the phrase: "I'm not racist"

Because I still am one. Because it never goes away. Because as a white person, I have absorbed messages for my entire life that I am better than the majority of people on earth, I have absorbed…

Oh hey! This is a new argument. ‘you don’t define what racism is, people of color do’. Tell me, why is it that a specific group of people who were at one point oppressed get to define the whole of racism? What about Jewish people, who were oppressed and exterminated for centuries? Do they get a say in what racism is? What about the people of Tibet, who have been ostracized by the Chinese so well that their country isn’t legally recognized by a good portion of the world? Do they get a say? How about the Polish? Look up their history, it’s had some pretty sucky times. Isn’t it pretty arrogant to say, “Yeah, you guys were oppressed - and I’mma let you finish - but man, America had the best oppression of all time!”

“at one point”

>implying racism is dead and gone

“Jewish people”

sometimes. antisemitism (it is important to note that this does not mean anti-zionism) is a problem in some places, although in the US it’s not nearly at the level of people of color. in those contexts, jews are best at explaining what their oppression looks like.

“Tibetans”

yes.

“Polish”

not in america. i don’t know if there’s any anti-pole sentiment in europe, though.

it is a matter of common sense that if we are living in the US and listening to black, indigenous, and latin@ people speaking about their experience in the US, we are talking about racism in the US.

It takes a special callousness to assume that ethnic hatred against certain groups that have now mostly assimilated doesn’t leave scars. I guess you can tell it to the Irish, with a smug line about steerage to suburbs, as though that does anything about a country still under occupation, as though those in North America with political ties to Ireland aren’t still viewed as politically suspect… yep, none of that shit happens at all…
